I am completely a woman of the west. I was born into it. I learned about scale and drama from western landscapes and skies. The west’s grand light and delicate color helped form my first ideas of beauty. The astonishing creatures that move through, and grow in, this part of the country have all had enormous impact on how I see and what I make.
I haven’t had much formal training. I make things by feel. I love the heft and weight of my materials. After more than twenty years of silversmithing, I am still delighted and surprised by what continues to be born in my little shop.
I have a lot to say about our world, and about the long and engaging process of being human in it. I try to tell stories in silver and stone. My intention is for my pieces to move out into the world pulsing with the love, wonder and awe of being alive in the world.
